OK can the U.S.Government or FDA, please tell me why all of these additives are still found in Commercial Tobacco? While they are so busy making laws that Ban or Tax Tobacco more. That they don't focus on the real problems as shown. I don't add any of these toxins to my homegrown batch. And my Tobacco tastes better than any major brands. Yet I still on Occasion buy this crap, why I'm still not sure. In fact they just added a new chemical in the mix fire retardant!!! How can any of these additives still be legal? If any of these chemicals were found in a food product that company would be gone... We consume Tobacco so why should it be any different?

Probably because some of those chemicals are addictive, too. As weird as it is to say, I still love the taste of the few (non-FSC) packs I've got left, benzylpropylcyanide and all.

If the crooked gummint didn't make the ridiculous FSC law, I would probably never have considered growing tobaccy or rolling my own..

I plan on enjoying the hell out of last few hundred of my premade menthol goodies, then buying 'pipe tobacco' until next fall's harvest, at which point I hope to reap enough to keep me supplied and satisfied thru until the following year. And so on and so forth. What kind of quantity did you come out with this past summer, V? From your pictures it looked like a LOT, but I have no frame of reference...

Thanks for this place. I notice it's a little slow 'round here, and the site was down for awhile the other day. I hope the owners/admin can carry on; I plan on buying a lot of seeds and whatever other supplies I need come spring.

..meantime I better go stoke the fire.. got a nice truckload of beech and ironwood this year.. that's some serious BTUs!

Hey Eli,

I made that statement not because I didn't know why I still buy Commercial Tobacco. I said that because I want people to see really how addictive it really is. Smokers(not Fast Food) are getting blamed for Health Care Costs. There for the Gov knows that Major Brands are as addictive as Cocaine. And more Tax's are a great way to help them get out of the hole they dug. If they raised Tax's on French Fry's people will just stop buying them.

I grew my own to not only $save$ tons of money. But also to smoke chemical free & better tasting Tobacco, which I have accomplished. Also I want to become less dependent (addicted). I don't want to be RJ or Philups MOJO's slave anymore. I enjoy smoking like millions of others out there. Yet don't like that I have to smoke every day to stay legally sane.

I see that your a Menthol smoker & I may have found a solution for that. I will have 100% natural menthol flavoring this week!!! I will post a review along with the product as soon as I try it. I know its a little slow here and the servers seem to go down from time to time. But I'm almost sure that I will have over 1,000 members before this summer. When I open & optimize my main page in Jan, for Tobacco seed searches. It will be like opening the flood gates with members.

I have not weighted or processed (de-ribbed) all of my Supply yet. But if I made an assumption that I harvested 3oz a plant. I should have about 175lbs dry give or take!!! I grew that much because Tobacco only gets better with age. I myself will only smoke about 20-25lb a year. Also I'm thinking of handing out free samples to locals to try before they buy seed.

Hello again vredeman,

I would be thrilled to try some different kinds! It's a little frustrating to be so excited about next year's gardens in the middle of December, but at least it gives me something to look forward to as we are nearing the year's darkest days...

I would be willing to pay for some tobacco (for aromatic "room-freshening" use only!) if you have that big of a cache! Let me know!
